Jhansi Jan Suvidha KendraJhansi Jan Suvidha Kendra is an indigenous step developed jointly by the Jhansi Administration and National Informatics Center( NIC) to redress public grievance. District Jhansi that comprises of 5 tehsils,and 437 Gram Panchayats covering nearly 5024 Sq. Kms. In the place where there is no penetration of internet facility or conventional grievance mechanism is not enough, this center is a prompt, hassle free solution for aggrieved citizen, Jhansi Jan Suvidha Kendra was launched in 2009, which enables the citizens to register their grievances through a toll free number that is provided to them. On an average, this center registers nearly 60 complaints and has redressed 38,000 complaints as on date. This system has set a benchmark as many states, election commission etc have started emanating this principle for better administration and redress public grievance. The steps involved in this scheme are as follows:
- The complainant registers the complaint through the Toll free number provided.
- The complaint is registered category wise and in light of the urgency of the complaint. For example, Category A that involves problems related to natural calamities, fire accidents, etc., to be disposed off within 24 hours. Category B that involves complaints related to electricity supply, telephone connection, water connection etc., to be disposed off within 3 days. Category C involves problems related to pension, deposits, employment to be disposed off within 7 days.
- The complaint is then assigned to the concerned department and officer who will see the problem is handled within the stipulated time.
- The complaints are monitored by the District Magistrate that makes gives it a further impetus.
